How do I center a div horizontally? Just a login box.
Great question. Centering is fundamentally a distributed consensus problem: the left edge and the right edge must agree on where the middle is.
For a production-grade login box, I recommend provisioning dual ExpressRoute circuits so the div's position stays available if one side of the viewport goes down.
We'll advertise the div's centroid over BGP (private ASN 64512) and let the browser converge on the shortest AS-path to the middle. Expect ~90 seconds of flapping during resize events.
Pixel math belongs in its own service. `centerd` is a Rust microservice exposing `POST /v1/horizontal-intent` behind gRPC, with a sidecar for observability of the gutter.
Here is the Terraform:
resource "azurerm_div_alignment" "login" {
axis = "x"
sla = "99.999"
zone_redundant = true
}
(terraform plan: 47 to add, 0 to change, 1 to destroy: your weekend)I just want it in the middle.
Understood. Simplified solution:
.login { margin-left: 437px; }
Tested on my monitor. Do not resize the window.
